Flow Science investigated the disposal of potentially toxic brines from the Cargill North Bay salt production facilities and developed a water quality model to evaluate operating schemes for the gradual transfer of brine into San Pablo Bay.

 

The plan was accepted by the Department of Fish and Game and the State Water Quality Control Board and the salt production facilities have, as a result, been transferred to Fish and Game as a major wetlands wild life preserve.
