Flow Science assisted in the design of a dual use pump station that includes three dry weather pumps in a self-cleaning trench and four large wet weather pumps in a more conventional pump station layout.The dry weather station incorporates an ogee spillway designed by Flow Science that is used to develop a hydraulic jump within the trench when the water levels are drawn down during the cleaning phase of the pumping operation. The model testing confirmed the basic design features developed for the station and it is now in operation.
