In this study for the 1 billion gallon reservoir under design, Flow Science performed a detailed analysis of the water quality concerns for the reservoir. The work involved analyses of water quality in the reservoir, determining the extent of anoxia using modeling, and devising operating strategies for mitigation of major water quality concerns. The work product involved a recommendation to utilize the bottom tiers of the outlet structure (at a depth of 45 ft) to prevent anoxia in the hypolimnion.
