Central Coast Water Authority Coastal Aqueduct Hydraulic and Transient Analyses

Central Coast Water Authority
Contra Costa County, CA

Flow Science performed a series of hydraulic and transient analyses of the Central Coast Water Authority’s Coastal Aqueduct between Tank 1 and Lake Cachuma. The 132-mile long aqueduct has a small surge allowance that requires the careful operation of the many flow control valves along the system.
A pump station delivering flow to Lake Cachuma required the installation of a surge tank to protect the discharge pipeline from adverse surges.
