The Cross Valley Transmission pipeline delivers flow from the Jordan aqueduct to an elevated treatment plant in summer; in winter the flow is reversed. The Jordan Aqueduct near this reach has an extremely low surge protection pressure margin.Flow Science developed a surge protection system for both pumping and turbine operations that met the Bureau of Reclamation’s design review.
