FSI performed a preliminary assessment of the environmental issues associated with disposal of the brine rejected from the desalination plants under consideration for the Binational (Mexico/United States) Desalination Project. The three sites under consideration in Baja California and San Diego County were evaluated. The results of the preliminary investigation present dilution analyses and mixing evaluations that determine the salinity in the vicinity of the brine discharge locations.
