New Mohawk Water Treatment Plant Clearwells

City of Tulsa, OK

In this 6 million-gallon rectangular clearwell owned by the Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority, the disinfection credit is based on a T10 ratio of 0.60. The original design configuration featured a serpentine flow pattern and a computed T10 ratio of 0.63. By adding perforated cross baffles after each turn, T10 was increased to 0.70, thus meeting the disinfection credit requirement with a 16 percent safety margin.
